1. When it says dives down, it means that they go lower so they would be -42 feet below sea level after the dive. 2. If you had a number line in front of you, you would start on -5 and go 5 places to the right to add five. Then you go 2 places to the left to add -2. 3. You would start at whatever integer you are starting at. Then you would go to the left if you are subtracting a whole number or go to the right of you are subtracting a positive number. 4 B= -1+ -5 = -6 C= -1 +9 = 8 D= 1 - (-2) = -1 E= 19- (-19)= 38 F= -87 - (-87) = 0 G= 0- (-5)= 5
