Hai there!

First, let's use the KCF technique (my old math teacher taught me this!)

Keep the first fraction the same, in this case, 1/2
Change the sign from division to multiplication
Flip the second fraction, or 3/8, to get it's reciprocal, or 8/3.

The new equation should look like this:

1/2 * 8/3

Now multiply straight across like you normally would, like so:

1 * 8 = 8
2 * 3 = 6

The new fraction is 8/6. Simplify by dividing both sides by 2 and turning it into a mixed fraction:

8 / 2 = 4
6 / 2 = 3

4/3 = 1 1/3

The solution to 1/2 / 3/8 is 4/3 or 1 1/3. I hope this helped you :)

The J.R. Ryland Computer Company is considering a plant expansion to enable the company to begin production of a new computer pr
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

Kindly check explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the data:

Medium-Scale Large-Scale

Expansion Profit Expansion Profit

x f(x) y f(y)

Low 50 0.2 0 0.2

Demand Medium 150 0.5 100 0.5

High 200 0.3 300 0.3

a. Compute the expected value for the profit associated with the two expansion alternatives.

Which decision is preferred for the objective of maximizing the expected profit?

Expected value for medium scale expansion profit :

Expected value (E) = Σ(X) * f(x)

Σ[(50 * 0.2) + (150 * 0.5) + (200 * 0.3)]

= 145

Expected value for Large scale expansion profit :

Expected value (E) = Σ(X) * f(x)

Σ[(0 * 0.2) + (100 * 0.5) + (300 * 0.3)]

= 140

Medium scale expansion profit is preferred as it has the highest expected value.

b. Compute the variance for the profit associated with the two expansion alternatives.

Which decision is preferred for the objective of minimizing the risk or uncertainty?

Variance (V) = Σ(X - E)² * f(x):

Variance for medium scale expansion profit :

V = [((50-145)^2 * 0.2) + ((150-145)^2 * 0.5) + ((200-145)^2 * 0.3) = 2725

Variance for Large scale expansion profit :

V = [((0-140)^2 * 0.2) + ((100-140)^2 * 0.5) + ((300-140)^2 * 0.3) = 12400

Smaller variance is required to minimize risk, Hence, choose the medium scale expansion profit.

What other angle will be 58 degrees?
kogti [31]

Answer:

Y

Step-by-step explanation:

The 58-degree angle and angle y are alternate interior angles, meaning they are both on the inside of the parallel lines but on opposite sides of the transversal. Since they are alternate interiors, they are the same.

Ownership of a home ($175,000)

Value of retirement savings ($92,000)

Ownership of 2 automobiles ($23,000)

Value of home furnishings ($3,800)

Worth of jewelry and other valuables ($5,000)

Checking account balance ($3,200)

Savings account balance ($8,800)

Value of stocks and investments ($12,400)

Total assets is $323,200

Assets are those items which would give a probable inflow to the Hanson Family.

The liabilities are the following:

Credit card debt ($200)

Home mortgage ($120,000)

Automobile loan debt ($8,500)

Student Loans ($11,000)

Total liabilities is $139,700

Liabilities are those items which would give a probable outflow to the Hanson Family.
