Answer:

The percent yield of lead(II) chloride is 88,8%

Explanation:

2HCl + Pb(NO3)2 → 2HNO3 + PbCl2

By stoichiometry, relation between Pb(NO3)2 and PbCl2 IS 1:1 mol

So 1 mol of Pb(NO3)2, makes 1 mol of PbCl2

I use 870 g of lead (II) nitrate, which means 2,63 moles

Molar mass - Pb(NO3)2-: 331,2 g/mol

Mass/Molar mass : Moles → 810 g  /331 g/m = 2,63 moles

In conclussion, I obtanied 2,63 moles of PbCl2 but this result is at 100% yield of reaction, as I only formed 650 gr of PbCl2 I have to find out my yield.

Molar mass -PbCl2-: 278,1 g/mol

Mass/Molar mass : Moles → 650g / 278,1 g/mol = 2,34 moles

2,63 moles ______ 100 %

2,34 moles ______ (2,34 . 100) /2,63 = 88,8 %

Which of these describes an endothermic process?
Phoenix [80]
The third one down: "When barium hydroxide is mixed with ammonium chloride, ice crystals form on the outside of the container."

This is because an endothermic reaction [process] takes in more energy than it releases. Therefore because a decrease in energy leads to a decrease in temperature, the ice crystals forming show that it must be a endothermic reaction [process].

Hope this helps! :)

allsm [11]

a. They are both normally found as gases in the atmosphere.  TRUE

That is correct, the oxygen and nitrogen are found in large quantities in the air around us.

b. They can be either liquids or gases. TRUE

Under certain temperatures any gas will transform into a liquid.

c.They turn from gas to liquid at the same temperature. FALSE

Oxygen it will pass into a liquid at -183 °C while nitrogen pass into a liquid at -195.8 °C.

d.They can be changed from gases to liquids by heating them. FALSE

A compound has a pka of 7.4. to 100 ml of a 1.0 m solution of this compound at ph 8.0 is added 30 ml of 1.0 m hydrochloric acid.
Monica [59]
 Using the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation on the solution before HCl addition: pH = pKa + log([A-]/[HA]) 8.0 = 7.4 + log([A-]/[HA]); [A-]/[HA] = 4.0. (equation 1) Also, 0.1 L * 1.0 mol/L = 0.1 moles total of the compound. Therefore, [A-] + [HA] = 0.1 (equation 2) Solving the simultaneous equations 1 and 2 gives: A- = 0.08 moles AH = 0.02 moles Adding strong acid reduces A- and increases AH by the same amount. 0.03 L * 1 mol/L = 0.03 moles HCl will be added, soA- = 0.08 - 0.03 = 0.05 moles AH = 0.02 + 0.03 = 0.05 moles Therefore, after HCl addition, [A-]/[HA] = 0.05 / 0.05 = 1.0 Resubstituting into the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation: pH = 7.4 + log(1.0) = 7.4, the final pH.
