For f(x), choose any two points say (-3,-10) and (-1,-7) where

x1 = -3 ; y1 = -10 ; x2 = -1 ; y2 = -7

Find the slope (m)

m=(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = (-7 - -10)/ (-1 - -3) = 3/2 or 1.5

slope of f(x) = 1.5

g(x) = 1/2 x  + 3

standard formula: y = mx + b where m is the slope.

slope of g(x) = 1/2 or 0.5

Since lance gains 1 level every time he plays,

slope = 1/1 = 1 so, slope of h(x) = 1

the function with the largest slope would be f(x) = 1.5

Here is your answer:

The answer is the first option "f(x)."

m=(y^2 - y^1) \div  (x^2 - x^1) = (-7 - -10) \div  (-1 - -3) = 1.5\\ f(x) = 1.5\\g(x) = 1/2 x  + 3\\g(x) = 0.5\\h(x) = 1

Therefore the answer is the first option!

Hope this helps!

7. A number m is such that when it is divided by 30, 36, and 45 the remainder is always 7, find the smallest possible value of m
Wittaler [7]

Answer:

187

Step-by-step explanation:

Least common multiple:

To find the required number,

  1. Find the LCM of 30 , 36  and 45
  2. Then add 7 to the LCM

30 =  2 * 3 * 5

36 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3 = 2² * 3²

45 = 2 * 3 * 3 = 2 *3²

LCM = 2² * 3² * 5

        = 4 * 9 * 5

        = 180

Required number = 180 + 7

                             = 187

Using substitution <br> x+3y=3<br> 3y-2x=12
frez [133]

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given </u><u>:</u><u>-</u>

  • x + 3y = 3
  • 3y - 2x = 12

And we need to solve the equation using Substituting method . So on taking the first equation ,

\rm\implies x + 3y = 3 \\\\\rm\implies x = 3 - 3y

<u>Put </u><u>this</u><u> </u><u>value</u><u> </u><u>in </u><u>(</u><u>ii)</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

\rm\implies 3y - 2x = 12 \\\\\rm\implies 3y - 2(3-3y)=12\\\\\rm\implies 3y -6-6y = 12 \\\\\rm\implies -3y = 18 \\\\\rm\implies y = -6

<u>Put </u><u>this</u><u> </u><u>Value</u><u> </u><u>in </u><u>(</u><u>I)</u><u> </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u>

\\\\\rm\implies x = 3-3*-6 \\\\\rm\implies x = 3+18 \\\\\rm\implies x = 21

<u>Hence</u><u> the</u><u> </u><u>Value</u><u> </u><u>of </u><u>x </u><u>is </u><u>2</u><u>1</u><u> </u><u>and </u><u>y </u><u>is </u><u>(</u><u>-</u><u>6</u><u>)</u><u> </u><u>.</u>

snow_tiger [21]

Answer: 23

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Divide the amount Lynn paid for the ribbon, 17.25, by the amount the ribbon cost per foot, 0.75, to get how many feet of ribbon she bought.

17.25 / 0.75 = 23
