What is x=3y+6 converted into y intercept form

Mathematics

Okay so to convert x=3y+6 into y intercept form you need to f<span>irst subtract x from both sides of the equation:
</span>x + 3y = 6
<span>(x + 3y) -x = 6 - x </span>

<span>3y = -x + 6 <-- (Which is the same thing as 6-x, but with x in front) </span>

<span>Now, to get rid of the 3 on the y side, divide by 3 on both sides of the equation (remember, what you do to one side you MUST do to the other side of the equation as well):
</span>(3y)/3 = (-x + 6)/3

<span>y = (-x/3) + 6/3 </span>
<span>or </span>
<span>y = (-1/3)x + 2 (Same thing, don't forget the negative) </span>

<span>y = mx + b </span>
<span>So the slope is (-1/3) and the y-intercept, b, is 2. </span>

<span>Hope you could understand that :3</span>

Solve the inequality <br><br><br> what is the solution?
bija089 [108]

Answer:

The solution to the inequality is:

2\ge \frac{g}{-4}\quad :\quad \begin{bmatrix}\mathrm{Solution:}\:&\:g\ge \:-8\:\\ \:\mathrm{Interval\:Notation:}&\:[-8,\:\infty \:)\end{bmatrix}

Please also check the graph of the solution to the inequality.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the inequality

2\ge \frac{g}{-4}

switch sides

\frac{g}{-4}\le \:2

Multiply both sides by -1 (reverse the inequality)

\frac{g\left(-1\right)}{-4}\ge \:2\left(-1\right)

Simplify

\frac{g}{4}\ge \:-2

Multiply both sides by 4

\frac{4g}{4}\ge \:4\left(-2\right)

Simplify

g\ge \:-8

Therefore, the solution to the inequality is:

2\ge \frac{g}{-4}\quad :\quad \begin{bmatrix}\mathrm{Solution:}\:&\:g\ge \:-8\:\\ \:\mathrm{Interval\:Notation:}&\:[-8,\:\infty \:)\end{bmatrix}

Please also check the graph of the solution to the inequality.

What is 1 whole 1/4 subtract to<br> 1/3
Blababa [14]
1 whole and 1/4 substracted to 1/3 can be written as:

1 1/4 - 1/3 =
= 5/4 - 1/3

We have to find a common denominator which is 12:

5/4 = 15/12
1/3 = 4/12

So now we just substract numerators:

15/12 - 4/12 = <u>11/12</u>
