Television representations of corrections imply an inability of the correctional system to rehabilitate offenders by presenting

what ratio of first-time offenders to habitual offenders?
Social Studies
1 answer:
Svetlanka [38]3 years ago
4 0

Cases of corrections towards offenders are shown on TV could be segmented into two groups:

  • First-time offenders, whose cases are of great interest for the public or have caused a great stir in society.
  • Repeat offenders, who are previously exposed criminals, whose actions are recurrent and worthy of showing as a way to express the failure of the correctional system to generate a positive influence towards these individuals.

The ratio of TV expositions of repeat offenders vs first-time offenders is considerably higher. Reaching levels that could easily exceed the 3 to 1 ratio. This is the case because these cases seem to be more propense to gain attention from the public, and as a consequence, tune into the TV program.

Is war ever justifiable? give your opinion
Andrews [41]
I think war is justifiable

- if there is an attack on one's territory: so when Germany attacked Poland in 1939, it was justified for Poland to lead a war against Germany

- if NOT leading a war would lead to more victims... so for example sometimes a war to stop a genocide is justifiable

Identify the reasons why slavery in the United States made the ""nuclear family"" a less viable ideal for black families.
Vanyuwa [196]

Forced separations of spouses, siblings, and parents from children.

Explanation:

Slavery meant that the parents could not guarantee that they can support their children or can safeguard their children. This was because of the forced separations of spouses, siblings, and parents from children and often it was the extended families of the people that looked after the children after the parents or one of the spouse were take into slavery. Hence, giving rise to a closely knit extended family structure among the black people of the United States.
