What comparisons does Frederick Douglass make to other points in history? Why does he do this?
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

Frederick Douglass sits in the pantheon of Black history figures: Born into slavery, he made a daring escape north, wrote best-selling autobiographies and went on to become one of the nation’s most powerful voices against human bondage. He stands as the most influential civil and human rights advocate of the 19th century.

Explanation:

Perhaps his greatest legacy? He never shied away from hard truths.

Because even as he wowed 19th-century audiences in the U.S. and England with his soaring eloquence and patrician demeanor, even as he riveted readers with his published autobiographies, Douglass kept them focused on the horrors he and millions of others endured as enslaved American: the relentless indignities, the physical violence, the families ripped apart. And he blasted the hypocrisy of a slave-holding nation touting liberty and justice for all.

which statement decribes a major difference between enlightenment thinkers thomas hobbes anf John Locke
pychu [463]
Well Thomas Hobbes and John Locke had a few key beliefs that where different. One was why was Government important, Hobbes believed it was supposed to protect us from ourselves while Locke believed that they were supposed to protect our belongings. Another was who had the Sovereignty. While Locke believed that was the people, Hobbes believed it was the monarch. Another was the argument of limited government, Hobbes believed that the government should have no limits and Locke believed they should. And the last key one was that of the right of revolution, meaning if the government went out of line the people could revolt and ‘start over’, Locke believed this to be true while Hobbes did not.

The did however agree on there is no such thing as Divine Right, which is that God gives the power of the throne, and the ‘State of Nature/War’ meaning that humans can and will be naturally violently times.

I hope this helped!

During the 1920 presidential election, Warren Harding made the idea of the "return to normalcy" central to his campaign. This id
Nuetrik [128]

The Harding's campaign promises of a return to "normalcy," supported the adoption of an isolationist policy and a series of measure that would return America to the way it was before the war; this idea appealed to voters who were affected by the tension and fighting during WW I and all the damages it had caused, and to those who wanted  to return to the way of life before World War I, adopt an isolationist policy rather than getting involved in international treaties or organizations (such as the League of Nations) and to focus on domestic issues.
