Most subcultures do not reject all of the values and practices of the larger society. A subculture is a group of people within a culture that differentiates itself from the parent culture to which it belongs, often maintaining some of its founding principles. Subcultures are the part of society while keeping their specific characteristics intact. Examples of subcultures include hippies, goths and bikers.
