Approximately 2 million years ago the genus Australopithecus gave rise to a new genus, Homo. Today, we retain the genus as Homo

sapiens. What important fossil evidence MOST likely helped scientists change the classification of those early human ancestors? A) opposable thumb B) teeth and skull size C) pelvis and leg bones D) spine alignment and foot size

There was two of the same question, but here is the answer again with a little more depth.

D - spine alignment and foot size.

It was only the late Australopiths that had an S-shaped spine. This allowed for them to be bipedal, that is, the ability to walk on two legs as we do. This is because the S-shaped spine allowed them to balance when they were standing. The late Australopiths also have shorter and less flexible toes. These smaller, but sturdier feet made pushing off the ground much easier - aiding in their bipedalism.

Select ALL statements that correctly describe events that occur during an action potential. a. Sodium-potassium pumps are activa
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer: Option B,C, E and F

Explanation:

Action potential describe rise or fall of membrane potential of a particular cell location. This happen when neuron send impulses away from cell body. During action potential, one of the neural membrane opens so as to allow positively charged ions inside the cells and negatively charged ions to move outside the cell.

How much 3M NaOH (MW=40) can be made from 10.0mL of a 10M solution?
vaieri [72.5K]

Explanation:

The given data is as follows.

              M_{1} = 3 M,           V_{1} = ?

              M_{2} = 10 M,         V_{2} = 10.0 ml

Therefore, calculate the volume of given solution as follows.

              M_{1} \times V_{1} = M_{2} \times V_{2}

Now, putting the given values into the above formula as follows.

            M_{1} \times V_{1} = M_{2} \times V_{2}

            3 M \times V_{1} = 10 M \times 10.0 ml

                   V_{1} = 33.3 ml

or,                             = 0.033 L        (as 1 ml = 0.001 L)

Since, molarity of NaOH is given as 3 M and its volume is calculated as 33.3 ml.

           Molarity = \frac{\text{mass of solute}}{\text{molar mass of solute}} \times \frac{1}{\text{volume in L}}

               3 M = \frac{mass}{40 g/mol \times 0.033 L}

              mass = 3.96 g

Therefore, we can conclude that mass of NaOH is 3.96 g.
