If x/2+ 7 = 4<br> , what is the value of 5x - 7?
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

-37

Step-by-step explanation:

for the first equation to equal 4 the x must equal -6.

because something plus 7 had to equal 4. and we know that -3 + 7 equals 4. Now, -6 ÷ 2 equals -3 and that gives us the right answer.

So now plug -6 into the new problem so now it is

5 × (-6) - 7 so according the PEMDAS, we do 5 × -6 first which is -30. and -30 - 7 equals -37!!

hope this helps :)

I need help figuring out when to use law of sine or law of cosine?
irina [24]
When you have angle and its corresponding (opposite) side then you need to use law of  sin. Problems 3,4,5(in 5 you need at first find angle X=180-92-62)

when you have two sides and angle between them, this is law of cos, problem 6,8

problem 7 you can use both, but if you can use both better to use law of sin, it is just easier

Hiroshi has 4 engines and 18 box cars. Find the ratio of engines to box cars. Write the ratio as a fraction in simplest form.
lyudmila [28]
To write a ratio as a fraction, we simply take the first number in the ratio and make it the numerator while taking the second number in the ratio and making it the denominator.

Because we want the ratio of engines to box cars, our ratio should be:

number of engines/number of box cars

When we substitute in our respective values, we get:

4/18

To simplify this ratio, we have to find the GCF, or greatest common factor of the numerator and the denominator, which in this case is 2. To simplify, we divide both the numerator and the denominator by the GCF, as follows:

4/2 / 18/2

When we simplify, we get:

2/9

Therefore, your answer is 2/9.

Hope this helps!

The proof that ΔACB ≅ ΔECD is shown. Given: AE and DB bisect each other at C. Prove: ΔACB ≅ ΔECD What is the missing statement i
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

The missing statement is ∠ACB ≅ ∠ECD

Step-by-step explanation:

Given two lines segment AC and BD bisect each other at C.

We have to prove that ΔACB ≅ ΔECD

In triangle ACB and ECD

AC=CE    (Given)

BC=CD   (Given)

Now to prove above two triangles congruent we need one more side or angle

so, as seen in options the angle ∠ACB ≅ ∠ECD due to vertically opposite angles

hence, the missing statement is ∠ACB ≅ ∠ECD
