This is the concept of geometry, we are required to find the values of angle a,b,c,d;
Given that the triangles are by line intersecting two parallel lines, therefore we can conclude that both triangles are similar;
thus;
angle b=40° ⇒alternate angles
angle b= angle c=40° ⇒base angles of isosceles triangles are equal;
angle d=180-(40+40)=180-80=100°
angle a=360-80=240°

Verify if f(x)= 5-3x/2 and g(x)= 5-2x/3 are inverses. Please show step by step.
mestny [16]

Since f(g(x)) = g(f(x)) = x, hence the function f(x) and g(x) are inverses of each other.

<h3>Inverse of functions</h3>

In order to determine if the function f(x) and g(x) are inverses of each other, the composite function f(g(x)) = g(f(x))

Given the function

f(x)= 5-3x/2 and

g(x)= 5-2x/3

f(g(x)) = f(5-2x/3)

Substitute

f(g(x)) = 5-3(5-2x)/3)/2

f(g(x)) = (5-5+2x)/2

f(g(x)) = 2x/2

f(g(x)) = x

Similarly

g(f(x)) = 5-2(5-3x/2)/3

g(f(x)) = 5-5+3x/3

g(f(x)) = 3x/3

g(f(x)) =x

Since f(g(x)) = g(f(x)) = x, hence the function f(x) and g(x) are inverses of each other.

What is the fifth term of the linear sequence which begins 20, 14, 8
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

The fifth term is -4

Step-by-step explanation:

The sequence has a common difference therefore, it is an arithmetic sequence

The formula for arithmetic sequence is

an = a1 + (n - 1)d

<em>where,</em>

<em>an is the nth term,</em>

<em>a1 is the first term,</em>

<em>n is the term number and</em>

<em>d is the common difference</em>

<u>Find the 5th term.</u>

an = a1 + ( n-1 ) d

a5 = 20 + ( 5-1 ) -6

a5 = 20+ ( -24 )

a5 = -4
