Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Corporate Social responsibility refers to the social obligations which a business owes towards the society, as business represent trustees of the society's resources.

As per the concept, a business derives it's resources from the society, such as raw materials, labor , manpower, water, electricity, etc. Business goods and services are purchased by the society and business derives it's revenue from the society. Thus, it is also the responsibility of business to be socially responsive i.e to address and participate in social issues, contribute towards education and provide amenities such as drinking water and sanitation and be protective of the environmental flora and fauna.

Swartz approach of operating Timberland is absolutely justified and realistic. Business success and effective discharge of corporate social responsibilities are interlinked.

Businesses who take up socially responsive causes perform better since it augments their reputation in the public eye and also helps them find able support from government and other authorities owing to being compliant and ethical in their approach.

Use the information presented in Northeastern Mutual Bank's balance sheet to answer the following questions.
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The explanation is given as follows.

Explanation:

Task 1:

The higher the percentage of assets a bank holds as loans, the higher the capital requirement.

When the owners of the bank borrow $100 to supplement their existing reserves , both reserves and debt increase by $100 , therefore increase in debt as in any balance sheet , the total value of accounts on the left hand should be equal to the right hand , so when there is increase in reserves , there will be increase in debt.

Task 2:

It specifies a minimum leverage ratio for all banks

leverage ratio initially = total assets / capital = 1750 / 125 = 14

leverage ratio new value = total assets / capital = 1850 / 125 = 14.8 ( the assets increase by $100 with increase in reserves)

Task 3

Its intended goal is to protect the interests of those who hold equity in the bank.

Capital requirement are there to ensure that bank have enough capital to repay the depositors and debtors and if a bank holds a higher percent of risky assets , capital requirements will be higher so that the bank remains solvent hence option a is right answer.

A company that manufactures bicycles has a fixed cost of $90000. It costs $100 to produce each bicycle. The total cost for the
Paul [167]

Solution:

The total cost for the company is the sum of its fixed cost and variable costs.

Corporate expenditures that do not depend on the amount of goods or services provided by the company are fixed costs.

Variable costs are expenses that change when changes occur in the sum of the good or service produced by a company.

C(x) = 90000 + 100x

C(110) = 90000 + 100 ( 110 )

C(110) = 90,000 + 11, 000 = 101,000

It costs $101,000 to produce 110 bicycles.
