False. The production of epidermal cells does not balance with the loss of the skin cells in a healthy skin.

The skin is classified healthy when there is no or less loss of the skin cells due to lack of nutrients or water. A healthy skin can withstand dryness and damage due to the harmful rays of the Sun. The epidermal cells present underneath the layer of the skin take part in replacing the dead skin cells with new skin cells.

What is substrate-level phosphorylation?
Lunna [17]

Answer:

D --  ATP synthesis when the phosphate donor is a substrate with high phosphoryl transfer potential

Explanation:

Substrate- level phosphorylation is the synthesis of ATP from ADP by the transfer of phosphoryl group from a substrate with high phosphoryl group potential to the ADP molecule.

In substrate-level phosphorylation, the donor is a phosphorylated intermediate molecule with a high phosphate transfer potential and it is a way through which phosphate in introduced into a molecule, the other two ways are oxidative phosphorylation and photophosphorylation. In substrate-level phosphorylation, a PO4^2- is transferred from a phosphate intermediate (substrate) to ADP to form ATP. Phosphorylase and kinases are enzymes involved in this reaction. An example is the reaction in glycolysis which involves phosphoenolpyruvate and ADP to form Pyruvate and ATP. This is to ensure adequate supply of energy to cells and also during anoxia so as not to make mitochodria strain the glycolytic ATP reserves.

A scientist helps a colleague do a better experiment by:
Virty [35]

Answer:

B. Offering advice about how best to perform a standard procedure.

Explanation:

Helping others can be in different ways, be it helping out or by giving encouraging words or advice. But in all aspects of help, there is always a positive outcome if help is given in the right way and at the right time. And it is also how one person lifts another.

A scientist can help a colleague out by offering advice and telling the person how to best perform a standard procedure. This will help the colleague do better in the experiment and also help ensure that the right things are done and the efforts are successful. The other options are all negative in their 'approach' which will only hinder the colleague in his/her works.

Thus, the correct answer is option B.

Swamp coolers which use evaporational cooling are a good way to cool homes and buildings in South Carolina.
zalisa [80]

4. Evaporative cooling can be defined as the process of removal of the latent heat from a surface by the evaporation the evaporation of a liquid from there, which results in the reduction of the temperatures. This technique is used for cooling the homes in the dry and hot areas, such as South Carolina. The dry and hot surrounding there makes it easier for the water to evaporate when it passes through the evaporative coolers, making the surrounding air cooler.

Hence, the given statement is true.

5. When the outside temperature is as high as 83 degree Celsius, while the relative humidity is 66%, , it is likely that the sweating will take place, and the water will be evaporated from the skin, making a person feel cooler.

Hence, the given statement is true.
