Answer:

Question 1: >

Question 2: >

Question 3: <

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Lets start with \sqrt{83} - 12. First you need to find the square root of 83, which is 9.1104. Right after you get the square root of 83 you need to subtract 12 which will give you -2.8895. For the second part of question one (in the image you provided), we will be doing \sqrt{49} - 10. We will start by finding the square root of 49, which is very simple. It's 7. You would then subtract 10 from 7 which gives you -3. And finally for question 1, you have to compare -2.8895 and -3 and determine which number is greater. Which is -2.8895, so you would put >.
  2. For the 2nd question, we will start with 2 + \sqrt{7}. First, let's get the square root of 7, which is 2.6457. Now we simply add 2! You should now end up with 4.6457. Now for \sqrt{17} -1, you need to get the square root of 17, which is 4.1231. Now just simply subtract 1. You should end up with 3.1231. Now just find which number is greater. Which is 4.6457. You should put > as your answer.
  3. For the final question, we will start with 15-\sqrt{15}. Just start by getting the square root of 15, which is 3.8729. Then simply subtract 15! You should have -11.1270 as your answer. And for \sqrt{10} + 4. Just get the square root of 10 to start which will be 3.1622. Now finally, add 4! You should get 7.1622 as your answer. Now for the final step, find the greatest number, which is 7.1622, you would then answer < for your final question

Let H be an upper Hessenberg matrix. Show that the flop count for computing the QR decomposition of H is O(n2), assuming that th
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Answer is explained in the attached document

Step-by-step explanation:

Hessenberg matrix- it a special type of square matrix, there there are two subtypes of hessenberg matrix that is upper Hessenberg matrix and lower Hessenberg matrix.

upper Hessenberg matrix:- in this type of matrix  zero entries below the first subdiagonal or in another words square matrix of n\times n is said to be in upper Hessenberg form  if ai,j=0

for all i,j with i>j+1.and upper Hessenberg matrix is called unreduced if all subdiagonal entries are nonzero

lower Hessenberg matrix:-  in this type of matrix  zero entries upper the first subdiagonal, square matrix of n\times n is said to be in lower Hessenberg form  if ai,j=0  for all i,j with j>i+1.and lower Hessenberg matrix is called unreduced if all subdiagonal entries are nonzero.

Komok [63]
I just kind of sat here playing with numbers i dont really know a shortcut but the answer is 10 chickens and 15 rabbits
10*2= 20 each chicken has two legs so thats 10 heads 20 legs
15*4=60 each rabbit has four legs so thats 15 heads 60 legs
15+10=25 heads
20+60=60 legs
