Answer:

A). The Puritans settled most of the region that is now called New England.

D). John Rolfe helped the Jamestown colony survive by teaching the colonists how to grow maize.

Explanation:

As per the questions, options A and D correctly describe the settlement of English colonies in North America.

The settling of Puritans in the region implies that the people of English colonies have not only settled there but also expanded their region which is now titled with the name 'New England.'

John Rolfe helping the Jamestown colony to survive at the place by teaching them agriculture(how to grow maize, tobacco, etc.) demonstrates that English colonies in the seventeenth-century were attempting to survive and gradually establish themselves in the new place.

Do you agree with Dr. Eberhardt that our brains are hard wired for racial bias? Explain.
solniwko [45]

Answer:

Yes, I do agree. Because as humans we are quick to judge before we get to know someone. For example, people tend to think all white people are racist and all black people are dumb, but that is certainly not the case. Not all white people treat black people like slaves and not all black people didn't grow up in the hood living off the government. The saying, "Don't judge a book by it's cover," relates so much to this. Like Dr.Eberhardt said, our brains are hard wired for racial bias. Because humans aren't perfect, and yes sometimes we do judge a book by it's cover and yes we see it's true colors once we start reading.

What questions do adverbial phrases ask and what do adjectival phrases ask
siniylev [52]

An adverbial phrase is a group of words that refines the importance of an action word, adjective, or adverb. Second, an adjectival phrase is a phrase that alters or describes a noun or pronoun.

 • Example for Adjectival phrase: What kind is it? How many are there? Which one is it? An adjective can be a single word, a phrase, or a clause.
 • Example for Adverbial phrase: How?, When?, Where?, Why?, In what way?, How much?, How often?, Under what condition, To what degree? if you were to say “I went into town to visit my friend,” the adverbial phrase to visit my friend would clarify why you went into town.

Explanation:

Prepositional phrases, infinitive phrases can go about as verb-modifying adverbial phrases in the event that they alter an action word, qualifier, or modifier. An adjective prepositional phrase will come directly after the thing or pronoun that it adjusts.

The adjective can start the expression (for example enamored with steak), finish up the expression (for example happy), or show up in an average position (for example very irritated about it).

Adverbial phrases expressions don't contain a subject and an action word. At the point when these components are available, the gathering of words is viewed as a verb-modifying proviso. The accompanying sentence is a model: "When the show closes, we're eating."
