X^2 + 12x + 6 = -5
x^2 + 12x = -5 - 6
x^2 + 12x = -11
x^2 + 12x + 36 = -11 + 36.....u add 36 to both sides <=
(x + 6)^2 = 25
x + 6 = (+-) sqrt 25
x + 6 = (+-) 5
x = -6 (+-) 5

x = -6 + 5
x = -1

x = -6 - 5
x = -11

solutions are : x = -1 or x = -11

ur answer : add 36 to both sides.. ur x term is 12, take half of ur x term ,which gives u 6, then u square it, which gives u 36...and add that to both sides

Answer:

\dfrac{49}{4} = 12.25

Step-by-step explanation:

4^{x-1} =

= (2^2)^{x - 1}

= 2^{2(x - 1)}

= 2^{2x - 2}

= 2^{x + x - 2}

= 2^x \times 2^x \times 2^{-2}

= 7 \times 7 \times \dfrac{1}{2^2}

= \dfrac{49}{4} = 12.25

Molly drew a map of her town. She graphed the point L(−1.75, −3) for the library. The ice cream shop is located at L′, a reflect
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

(1.75, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's find L' first: We are reflecting L over the x axis, it means it stays on the same vertical (x=-1.75) and it's y changes sign, going to (-1,75,3).

This new point gets reflected again, over the y-axis. The horizontal coordinate (y=3) remains the same, and  the x coordinate changes sign, going to it's final destination (1,75, 3)

sineoko [7]

Answer:

  (a) an = 18 +3(n -1)

  (b) row 35

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) The general term (an) of an arithmetic sequence can be expressed in terms of the first term (a1) and the common difference (d) as ...

  an = a1 +d(n -1)

The given sequence has a1 = 18 and d = 3, so the explicit formula is ...

  an = 18 + 3(n -1)

__

(b) We want to find n such that an = 120.

  120 = 18 + 3(n -1)

  40 = 6 + n - 1 . . . . . . . divide by 3

  35 = n . . . . . . . . . . . . . subtract 5

Row 35 has 120 seats.
