Answer:

3-methyloctane and propane are saturated hydrocarbon. Cyclopentene, heptyne and propyne are unsaturated hydrocarbon.

Explanation:

Saturated hydrocarbons may be defined as hydrocarbons containing only single bonds. Unsaturated hydrocarbons contains double and triple bonds in its structure.

The hydrocarbons -3- methyl octane and propane contains only single bonds within carbon and hydrogen. These saturated hydrocarbons are commonly named as alkanes. Cyclopentene, heptyne and propyne are unsaturated hydrocarbons as they contains double and triple bonds. Cyclopenetene contains double bond and commonly named as alkenes. Heptyne and propyne has three vbonds in its structure and are referred as alkynes.

Solution:

Saturated means that the hydrocarbon has only single bonds and that the hydrocarbon contains the maximum number of hydrogen atoms for each carbon atom. Unsaturated hydrocarbons contain multiple bonding and contain less than the maximum number of hydrogen per carbon.

Saturated hydrocarbon is 3-methyloctane, and propane.

Unsaturated hydrocarbon is Propyne, heptyne, cyclopentene.

Infectious agents vary in their size and shape. Which infectious agent tends to be the smallest?
algol [13]

The correct answer is option C, that is, viruses.

An infection occurs when a foreign species moves inside the body of an individual and causes harm. The species utilizes the body of that person to reproduce, sustain itself, and colonize. These infectious species are called pathogens. The examples of pathogens are viruses, bacteria, prions, and fungi.

Of the given options, viruses are the smallest infectious agent. The viruses are basic particles, which must infect a host cell to reproduce and develop. Viruses utilize the host cells metabolic machinery to double themselves.

Inversion of DNA sequences within chromosomes is a common process in evolution. The following gene arrangements in a particular
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

The correct answer is - 1, 4, 3, 2.

Explanation:

It is given that the first sequence represents the earliest or ancestor species therefore, the first sequence would be - STUVWX

After the inversion, the highlighted sequence of the first sequence STUVWX gives rise to the second sequence as:

STUVWX

SWVUTX

Thus the second sequence after Ist inversion would be SWVUTX

2nd inversion, Third sequence:

SWVUTX

UVWSTX

Thus the third sequence after 2nd inversion is UVWSTX

3rd inversion, fourth sequence:

UVWSTX

UVXTSW

Thus, the fourth sequence after 3rd inversion is UVXTSW
