You are part of an inter-agency team supporting trafficking interdictions in the Caribbean. For technical reasons you are requir

ed to board an intercepted vessel once U.S. law enforcement counterparts have detained suspects. Although you are not a direct part of the law enforcement mission, while aboard, you are very surprised to see a U.S. civilian official assaulting a handcuffed suspect under interrogation. The official shouts a warning to the suspect and postures to strike him again. Other personnel on the scene also appear surprised but hesitate to act. What should you do?

Answer:

The right thing to do is to speak up! As a citizen of the United States of America, you are entitled to your freedom of speech and seeing an inhumane act been carried out that does not go well with you, you simply call out the person and gently explain to he/she that the individual has stated humanitarian and civil rights and has to be treated justly.

On no grounds should that be condoned as it is an assault regardless of the fact that it was an interrogation.
