Use Pythagorean theorem
20 ^{2}=12^{2}+15^{2}

Solve
20^2 = 400
12^2 = 144
15^2 = 225
400 = 144 + 225
400 > 369

Since C^2 was greater than A^2 and B^2, your triangle is obtuse

This would be acute, since the triangle had no sides greater than 90 degrees. All of the angles are less than 90 degrees and an acute triangle is less than 90 degrees. Also if it was a right triangle at least two sides would have to be equal. Hope this Helps:)))

Answer:

B.) You don't really have to worry about finding the slope. You just have to look for the y intercept, which is (0, -2)

MATH WHAT IS THIS!!!
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

17 minutes    i had this same answer and question 2day, so ur lucky.

Step-by-step explanation:

The initial solution most people will think of is to use the fastest person as an usher to guide everyone across. How long would that take? 10 + 1 + 7 + 1 + 2 = 21 mins. Is that it? No. That would make this question too simple even as a warm up question.

To reduce the amount of time, we should find a way for 10 and 7 to go together. If they cross together, then we need one of them to come back to get the others. That would not be ideal. How do we get around that? Maybe we can have 1 waiting on the other side to bring the torch back. Ahaa, we are getting closer. The fastest way to get 1 across and be back is to use 2 to usher 1 across. So let's put all this together.

1 and 2 go cross

2 comes back

7 and 10 go across

1 comes back

1 and 2 go across (done)

Total time = 2 + 2 + 10 + 1 + 2 = 17 mins

If a and b are two angles in standard position in Quadrant I, find cos(a+b) for the given function values. sin a=3/5and cos b=12
insens350 [35]

You have to find the cos of angle A, so use the Pythagorean equation and trig laws to find the other side of the triangle created by angle A. 3^2 + x^2 = 5^2. x=4. This means cos(A) = 4/5). Make both cos (A) and cos (B) have equal denominators, and add. 148/185 + 60/185 = 208/185. This answer is correct, though it doesn’t appear to be any of the answers you wrote, so either those answers are wrong or you wrote something incorrectly in the problem.
