Here the expression is 11 to the second power over 1331 .

Which can be expressed as

\frac{11^2}{1331}

And 1331 is the cube of 11, that is

\frac{11^2}{11^3}

In case of division , we have to use quotient rule and subtract the powers, that is

11^{2-3} = 11^{-1}

Now we need to make the power positive and for that we have to flip the term. That is

\frac{1}{11}

Jim leaves the gym running 5 mph. Ten minutes later Bob leaves the gym on his bike traveling at a speed of 8 mph. how long will
podryga [215]

Answer:

26 2/3 minutes:  The two boys meet after 26 2/3 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance covered by Jim = Distance covered by Bob

     (5 mph)(t)                      = (8 mph)(t - 10)

Simplify this by performing the indicated multiplication:

           (5 mph)(t)                 = (8 mph)(t) - 80 mi

or:

                 80 mi                 = (3 mph)(t), or

     80 mi

t = ----------- = 26 2/3 minutes

     3 mph

How to solve x=6y-11 and 3x-2y=-1 by substitution
vagabundo [1.1K]
Substitute x into the second equation:
3(6y-11)-2y=-1
18y-33-2y=-1
16y=32
y=2
Then put the y value into the first equation to get x:
x=6(2)-11
x=1
There you go!
