Semicircle area
a = 1/2 × area of circle
a = 1/2 × π × r²

Triangle area
a = 1/2 × b × h

With the formula above, input the numbers which are given in the question
Semicircle area
a = 1/2 × π × r²
a = 1/2 × 3.14 × 5²
a = 1/2 × 3.14 × 25
a = 39.25 cm²

Triangle area
a = 1/2 × b × h
a = 1/2 × 5 × 4.5
a = 1/2 × 22.5
a = 11.25 cm²

Combining the area
a = semicircle area + triangle area
a = 39.25 + 11.25
a = 50.5 cm²

the closest area is fourth option

What is the difference between x and dx?
N76 [4]

This response is based upon your having had some background in calculus. "dx" is not introduced before that.

Take a look at the sample function y = f(x) = x^2 + 9. Here x is the independent variable; the dependent variable y changes with x.

Now, for a big jump: we consider finding the area under a curve (graph) between x = a and x = b. We subdivide that interval [a,b] into n vertical slices of area. Each of those slices has its own area: f(x)*dx, where dx represents the width of such subarea. f(x)*dx is the actual subarea. To find the total area under the curve f(x) between x= a and x = b, we add up all of these individual subareas between x = a and x = b. Note that the subinterval width is

b-a

dx = ---------- , and that dx becomes smaller and smaller as the number of

n subintervals increases.

Once again, this all makes sense only if you've begun calculus (particularly integral calculus). Do not try to relate it to earlier math courses.

Someone please help with this maths problem.
NemiM [27]
The answer would be 80 because you are multiplying each number by 2. You multiply 5 x 2 = 10, 10 x 2 = 20, 20 x 2 = 40, and then 40 x 2 = 80. That is how I got the answer 80!!

(2x + 3y) + (4x - 3y) = 11+(-5)
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

The correct option should have been 6x=6.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression

\left(2x\:+\:3y\right)\:+\:\left(4x\:-\:3y\right)\:=\:11+\left(-5\right)

solving the expression

\left(2x\:+\:3y\right)\:+\:\left(4x\:-\:3y\right)\:=\:11+\left(-5\right)

Remove parentheses:  (a) = a

2x+3y+4x-3y=11-5

Group like terms

3y-3y+2x+4x=11-5

Add similar elements

6x=6

It is clear that not a single given option is 6x=6. It means no option is correct. It seems you mistyped the correct options.

The correct option should have been 6x=6.
