A longitudinal wave with higher energy have greater amplitude. Amplitude is the distance between the crust and trough of the wave. Crust is the upper part of the wave while trough is the lower part of the wave. If the distance between crust and trough of the wave is higher so the amplitude is also greater and we can say that the wave contains high amount of energy and vice versa. The shape of the wave just like a hill.
Answer: Capillary action occurs because water is sticky, thanks to the forces of cohesion (water molecules like to stay close together) and adhesion (water molecules are attracted and stick to other substances).
