As part of graduation tradition, the tassel on a student's cap is moved from one side to the other. The design shows the locatio

n of a student's tassel, ST, before and after the ceremony. Which statement best describes the possible transformation of ST? The line segment is translated to the left across the square. The line segment is reflected across the horizontal line segment representing the bottom edge of the cap. The line segment is doubled in length from right to left. The line segment is rotated clockwise about the center point of the cap.

First of all, we have to observe this triangles separated by the height. These small and big triangles are similar according to the Angle-Angle-Angle principle.

a. We can find all of these length using the cosine of the angle, Pythagoras theorem and the principle of the similarity of triangles.

b. According to the cosine of the angle we can write that, cosθ = 12/a = 5/13 and from here a = 31.2. After finding that using Pythagoras theorem, we can write that b=\sqrt{31.2^{2}-12^{2}} = 28.8. According to the similarity of the triangles, we can write that 31.2/d = 28.8/12 and d = 13. Applying Pythagoras theorem we find that c = 5.

c. We already gave the answer for this question in part b

Solve the inequality.<br> -6n &gt; 54
Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

n < 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Solving an inequality is just like solving an equation, one uses inverse operations. The only difference is that when one multiplies or divides by a negative number, one must remember to flip the inequality sign to ensure that the expression remains true.

-6 n > 54

/ (-6)

n < 9
