Farmer has 7 choice for cow out of which he choose only 2

4 choice for pig and he choose only 3 pigs

10 choice for sheep and he choose all 10 sheep

Number of ways of choosing cows = 7C2

Number of ways of choosing pigs = 4C3

number of ways of choosing sheep = 10C 10

all these three groups of different animals can make different groups when taken together

That is : 7C2 * 4C3 * 10C10 = 21 * 4 * 1 = 84 ways

Answer : 84

Brilliant_brown [7]

The number of ways in which the position of one person in charge of research and one person in charge of marketing can be chosen from the board of 16 members is 240 ways. Computed using permutations.

The permutation is the way of choosing a set of objects from a larger set of objects in a specific sequence.

If we are choosing r number of objects, from n number of objects in a specific sequence, then we follow permutation, and it is given as:

nPr = n!{(n - r)!}.

In the question, we are asked to find the number of ways in which the position of one person in charge of research and one person in charge of marketing can be chosen from the board of 16 members.

Since the position is to be chosen in a specific order, we will follow permutation.

The number of positions to be chosen (r) = 2.

The number of members (n) = 16.

Thus, the number of ways is given as:

nPr = n!{(n - r)!},

or, 16P2 = 16!{(16 - 2)!},

or, 16P2 = 16!/14! = 15*16 = 240.

Thus, the number of ways in which the position of one person in charge of research and one person in charge of marketing can be chosen from the board of 16 members is 240 ways. Computed using permutations.

Constance wants to purchase an school jacket. She saw the same jacket at a few stores. Store A had the jacket for 15% off the or
soldi70 [24.7K]

Store A will be the better buy.

The price will be $53.70 after sales tax at store A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Price of Jacket at store A = $59.60

Discount = 15%

Discount Amount = \frac{15}{100}*59.60\\

Discount Amount = 0.15*59.60=\$8.94

Price after discount = Original price - Discount amount

Price after discount = 59.60 - 8.94 = $50.66

Price of Jacket at store B = $50.99

The price at store A becomes less than store B after discount, therefore, buying from store A is better.

Sales tax = 6%

Sales tax amount = \frac{6}{100}*50.66

Sales tax amount = 0.06*50.66=\$3.0396

Price after sales tax = Discount price at store A + Sales tax amount

Price after sales tax = 50.66 + 3.0396 = $53.6996

Rounding off to nearest hundredth;

Price after sales tax = $53.70

The price will be $53.70 after sales tax at store A.

In an arithmetic sequence, if you are given a3=93 and a5=135, find a=100. Must show work to receive full credit.
Elanso [62]

The 100th term of the sequence is 2130.

How to calculate the value?

a3 = a + 2d = 93

a5 = a + 4d = 135

Compute both equations

(4d - 2d) = (135 - 93)

2d = 42

d = 42/2 = 21

a + 2d = 93

a + 2(21) = 93

a + 42 = 93

a = 94 - 42 = 51

100th term will be:

= a + 99d

= 51 + 99(21)

= 51 + 2079

= 2130
