No. 7.8 is not equivalent to 9.

If you rounded to the nearest whole number, yes, the number that you'd get would be 9 but if you were to look at the two values, 7.8 and 9, then no, these two are not equivalent due to the fact that 9 is 1.2 values higher than 7.8

If f(x) = log2 (x + 1), what is f-1(2)? (2 points)
Soloha48 [4]

as you already know, to get the inverse of any expression, we start off by doing a quick switcheroo on the variables, and then solve for "y".

\bf \textit{Logarithm Cancellation Rules} \\\\ log_a a^x = x\qquad \qquad \stackrel{\textit{we'll use this one}}{a^{log_a x}=x} \\\\[-0.35em] \rule{34em}{0.25pt}\\\\ \stackrel{f(x)}{y}=\log_2(x+1)\implies \stackrel{\textit{quick switcheroo}}{\underline{x}=\log_2(\underline{y}+1)}\implies 2^x=2^{\log_2({y}+1)} \\\\\\ 2^x=y+1\implies 2^x-1=\stackrel{f^{-1}(x)}{y} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ 2^2-1=f^{-1}(2)\implies 3=f^{-1}(2)

Does anyone know how to do this
bezimeni [28]
You can turn 5 into 10/2 and add to x/2
then you need to use simple algebra to left the x alone in the equation so you need to multiply both sides by 2 so you get
2y=10+x
then you need to subtract both sides a 10 so
2y-10=x
now change the x to f'(x) and y to x so:
f'(x)=2x-10
