I'm almost positive that the answer is 60 miles an hour but if I'm wrong I'm sorry. I think it's 60 cause in 4 hours they drove 240 miles and 240 divided by 40 is 60

1. f (x) = 5x + 10. If x = 10, then what is the value of f(x)?
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

B: 60

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)= 5x+10, if x=10

f(10)=5(10)+10

5(10)+10=60

f(10)=60

A rectangular garden is fenced on all sides with 248 feet of fencing. The garden is 6 feet longer than it is wide. Fine the leng
Shalnov [3]

The total length of the fencing is 248 ft; we call this the "perimeter" of the garden.  Since P = 2W + 2L in general, here:

                       P = 248 ft = 2W + 2(W+6), or   248 ft = 4W + 12.

Subtracting 12 from both sides of this equation:  236 ft = 4W.  Then W = 59 ft, which means that L = 65 ft.

*PLEASE HELP MEEEEEE* You throw a dart at the board shown. Your dart is equally likely to hit any point inside the square board.
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

19.63%

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability of scoring 8 points is the probability of getting a dart into the green circle.

That probability is equivalent to the area of the circle divided by the total area of the square board.

The area of the circle according to A=\pi*r^2, is 25\pi cm squared

The area of the whole square board is one side squared: 20 squared = 400 cm squared

The probability is therefore equal to 25\pi/400 = \pi/16=0.19634=19.63%%

A single fair die is rolled. What if event A stays the same, i.e., A={2,4} but B={2,4,5}. Event A is independent with event B. T
den301095 [7]

Answer:

False.

Event A and event B are not independent.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that event A and event B are

A= {2,4} and B= {2,4,5}.

If the following condition satisfies then event A and event B are independent:

P( A and B)= P(A)*P(B).

Now A and B=?

A and B=A∩B= {2,4} ∩ {2,4,5}

A and B=A∩B={2,4}

The single fair die results in 6 outcomes so, the sample space will contain 6 elements.

Thus,

P(A∩B)=2/6=1/3

P(A)=2/6=1/3

P(B)=3/6=1/2

P(A)*P(B)=1/3*1/2=1/6

As,

P(A∩B)≠P(A)*P(B)

1/3≠1/6

Thus, events A and event B are dependent.
