The loudness of the sound determined by the amplitude or height of sound waves. Amplitude is the displacement of a wave from its mean value. Greater the amplitude, the louder the sound. This means greater the amplitude, the sound will be louder. Amplitude is measured in decibels, thus loudness of sound is also measured in decibel.
