We have a right triangle with a 60 degree angle so this is 30/60/90, half an equilateral triangle, one of the two tired triangles of trig. I could solve it for the thousandth time or just tell you the truth: you need to memorize this one and the other one, 45/45/90, half a square. It's two lousy triangles; you'll be done in ten minutes. But it's ten minutes well spent.

The sides of 30/60/90 are in ratio 1:\sqrt{3}:2 and here y:x:10\sqrt{3} so

\dfrac{y}{1} = \dfrac{x}{\sqrt{3}} = \dfrac{10\sqrt{3}}{2}

x = \sqrt{3} \cdot \dfrac{10\sqrt{3}}{2} = 15

y = 5\sqrt{3}

Answer: x=15, y=5√3

If eight cars are entered in a race and three finishing places are considered, how many finishing orders can they finish? Assume
Sladkaya [172]

Answer:

a) 336

b)6

c)6

Step-by-step explanation:

a) In the 1st place fit 8 cars, in the 2nd only fit 7 cars, because one is already in the first place and 3th fit 6 cars, so all the possibilities are 8*7*6.

b) in the 1st place fit 3 cars, 2nd 2 cars and 3th 1 car, so all the possibilities are 3*2*1

c) every shirt can be matched with 1 pair of pants, there are 2 shirts and 3 pants, so all the the possibilities are 6+6.

I need step by step explanation for this!!
Naily [24]

Hello! :)

Answer:

\huge\boxed{751}

Let the smallest digit, or the units' digit, be equal to x:

Tens' digit is four more, therefore:

x + 4 represents the tens' digit.

Hundreds' digit is 2 more than the tens' digit, so:

2 + (x + 4), or x + 6 represents the hundred's digit.

These all sum up to 13, so write an expression to represent this:

x + (x + 4) + (x + 6) = 13

Combine like terms:

3x + 10 = 13

Subtract 10 from both sides:

3x = 3

Divide both sides by 3:

x = 1

Find the digits using the rules listed above:

Hundreds' digit: (1) + 6 = 7

Tenths' digit:  (1) + 4 = 5

Units' digit: 1 = 1

Therefore, the number is:

751.
