Answer:

B. He called for a strike and a boycott against grape growers who refused to allow unionized workers.

Explanation:

César Chávez (born as César Estrada Chávez, March 31, 1927 to April 23, 1993) was an American peasant leader and civil rights activist who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Peasants' Association in 1962, which was later recognized as the Union of Peasants Union. As a Mexican peasant worker, Chávez became the most recognized Latin American civil rights activist, and was strongly promoted by the US labor movement, which sought to enroll Hispanic members. His promotion of unionism through public relations and the use of aggressive but nonviolent tactics turned the struggle of the peasant workers into a moral cause that had support at the national level. By the late 1970s, their tactics had forced growers to recognize the UFW as the negotiating spokesperson for 50,000 peasant workers in California and Florida.

PLS HELP ME I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

1. It Is a clear expression of fake democracy. The term "free election" doesn't entirely make sense in a country where any distinction between the ruling party and the government has been almost completely erased. Syria is considered a unitary republic with a semi-presidential style of government. However, the controlling parties practice a highly authoritarian regime with most of the political power in the AL-Assad family's hands. People doesn't have more option if the want to "live".

2. If I live in that country, I think I feel like a hostage. Elections over there aren't free, and they're certainly not fair. The resulting optics are not democratic enough. They buy the government a minimum of democratic credibility abroad without seriously imperiling its hold on power.

Which quote from the text most likely explains why modernism emerged?
musickatia [10]

Modernism most likely emerged because of d. all of the options above including:

  • the faster lifestyle that came with the Second Industrial Revolution
  • the first World War affecting class structures and,
  • the changing times

Modernism refers to a period that started in the late 19th century and continued on into the early 20th century where art and philosophy attempted to catch up to the changing times.

The causes for this were:

  • the second industrial revolution increasing urbanization levels such that life became faster
  • the first World War leading to the lower classes demanding better and traditional class structures crumbling and,
  • the improvements in science, philosophy and human studies

We can therefore say in conclusion that all the above explain why modernism emerged.
