The main reason for this is gravity. Gravity between objects in our solar system and milky way is strong enough to counteract this expansion. Hope it helps.

The tired of a car support the weight of a stationary. If onetire has a slow leak, the air pressure within the tire will_____wit
Westkost [7]

Answer:

d) Decrease, increase, remain constant

Explanation:

If one tire has a slow leak, the air pressure within the tire will_DECREASE____with time due to outflow of air , the surface area between the tire and the road will__INCREASE__in time,due to flattening of tire.

The net force the tire exerts on the road will_REMAIN CONSTANT____in time. It is so because force does not depend upon area. It is pressure which depends upon area. As there is no change in the weight of the car , force on the road will remain constant.

A proton (mass m = 1.67 × 10-27 kg) is being accelerated along a straight line at 2.50 × 1012 m/s2 in a machine. If the proton h
Veronika [31]

Answer:

(A) Speed will be 44.18\times 10^4m/sec

(b) Change in kinetic energy = 1560\times 10^{-19}

Explanation:

We have given mass of proton m=1.67\times 10^{-27}kg

Acceleration of the proton a=2.50\times 10^{12}m/sec^2

Initial velocity u = 1.60\times 10^4 m/sec

Distance traveled by proton s = 3.90 cm = 0.039 m

(a) From third equation of motion we know that

v^2=u^2+2as

v^2=(1.60\times 10^4)^2+2\times 2.5\times 10^{12}\times 0.039

v=44.18\times 10^4m/sec

(b) Initial kinetic energy KE_I=\frac{1}{2}mv^2=\frac{1}{2}\times 1.67\times 10^{-27}\times (1.6\times 10^4)^2

Final kinetic energy KE_F=\frac{1}{2}mv^2=\frac{1}{2}\times 1.67\times 10^{-27}\times (44.18\times 10^4)^2

So change in kinetic energy \Delta KE=KE_F-KE_I=\frac{1}{2}\times 1.6\times 10^{-27}\times 10^8\times (44.18^2-1.6^2)=1560\times 10^{-19}J

What velocity must a car with a mass of 1280 kg have in order to have the same momentum as a 2230?
sveta [45]
Momentum = (mv).

3 An un calibrated mercury in glass thermometer immersed in melting ice. The length of the mercury thread is 25 mm when the ther
sammy [17]

Answer:

25 mm = 0 deg C

200 mm = 100 deg C

200 - 25 = 175 = change in thread per 100 deg C

95 - 25 = 70 mm - change in thread from 0 deg C

70 / 175 * 100 = 40 deg C    final temperature at 95 mm
