The rule is the number divided by 5
Remember: Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally (PEMDAS)
In solving algebraic expressions, there is an order in which to solve it.
1) perform the operation inside the parenthesis first
2) then perform the operation with the exponents
3) apply multiplication and division from left to right of the equation.
4) apply addition and subtraction from left to right of the equation.
26/44 - 18/44 = 8/44
26 - 18 = 8
even though it is subtraction, you do not subtract the bottom numbers (denominator).
so your answer is 8/44
if you simplify it, you will get 4/22 and then 2/11
your simplified answer is 2/11 (is this on there?)
hope this helps
This A(n) = (24 members) + 5(members/week)(n-1) is correct, provided that we define the domain as [1, infinity). Thus, if n=1, A(1) = 24 + 5(0) = 24, which is correct.
