180 = 60 + (180-a) + (180-b)

120 = 180 - a + 180 - b

-240 = -a - b

b - 240 = -a

b = 240 - a

How far does judy travel in 2 3/4 hours if she travels at the rate of 5 1/2 miles per hour
Roman55 [17]

Judy travel's 15.125 miles or 15\frac{1}{8} miles in 2 3/4 hours

How to solve such time related questions?

The key concept for solving such questions is the relationship between speed, distance and time.

The relationship between them is Distance = Speed x Time

Given:

  •   Speed = 5 1/2 miles per hour
  •    Time  =   2 3/4 hours

Substituting it in the relationship we get,

Distance = Speed x Time

Distance =  5 1/2 miles per hour  x 2 3/4 hours

Distance = \frac{11}{2}  X \frac{11}{4} miles

Distance =  \frac{121}{8} miles or 15\frac{1}{8} miles

Thus Judy travel's 15.125 miles or 15\frac{1}{8} miles in 2 3/4 hours

What is the value of x?
ikadub [295]

Answer:

x = 22

Step-by-step explanation:

The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the interior angles

6x+1 = 79+ 2x+10

Combine like terms

6x+1 = 2x+89

Subtract 2x from each side

4x+1 = 89

Subtract 1 from each side

4x = 88

Divide by 4

4x/4 = 88/4

x = 22

The measure of an angle is 135 degrees. What is the measure of its supplementary angle ?
Marat540 [252]

Remember that if two angles are supplementary, then the sum of their measures is 180°. So if the measure of an angle is 135 degrees. What is the measure of its supplement?

If the measure of an angle is 135°,

then the measure of its supplement is 45°.

We can find the measure of its supplement by taking 180 minus the measure of the original angle which in this case is 180 - 135 or 45°.
