Renting you lose money even if it’s cheap you can never get your money back. When you buy a house you can resell it and get all your money back or possibly even more.

Not really a math problem...but buying a house allows for tax deduction on the mortgage interest that you pay and also allows you to buy up equity over time as you pay off the house mortgage. Renting an apartment does not have such benefit.
