Which is the least number of seismograph stations needed to locate the epicenter of a earthquake
Hunter-Best [27]

At least three seismograph stations are needed to locate the epicenter of a earthquake.

Further Explanation:

An <u>earthquake</u> occurs when two region of the earth slip past each other. Fault plane is the area where the slip occurs. <u>Hypocenter</u> is the region below the earth’s surface where earthquake starts while the <u>epicenter</u> is the region above it.

The earth consists of four major layer:

1. Inner core

2. Outer core

3. Mantle

4. Crust

<u>Seismographs</u> is an instrument used to record the earthquake. The recording done by this instrument is called as the <u>seismograms</u>.

The seismograph comprises of:

1.  A base: is fixed tightly in the ground

2. Heavy weight: hangs freely

When the earthquake occurs, the ground shakes and in turn the seismograph also shakes while the hanging weight does not shakes. During the earthquake, the difference in the location between the shaking piece and the motionless piece is recorded. Magnitude of the earthquake is recorded as one for each earthquake. The magnitude of earthquake is measured by the <u>Richter scale</u> but is more commonly measured through <u>moment magnitude scale</u>.

Explain the role of DNA and chromosomes in passing traits from parents to offspring?
Naddik [55]

\huge\mathsf{\red{\underline{\underline{Answer}}}}

{\green{\dashrightarrow}}The main role of DNA in the cell is the long-term storage of information. This backbone carries four types of molecules called bases and it is the sequence of these four bases that encodes information. The major function of DNA is to encode the sequence of amino acid residues in proteins, using the genetic code.

The student performed an experiment to test his hypothesis about sunlight and plant height using two plants. He kept everything
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

The sample size is too small

Explanation:

<em>The problem most likely identified by Roberto would that the sample size is too small.</em>

A small sample size during an experimental study would decrease the statistical power of the data from such an experiment and increase the likelihood of making an error - type II error. Type II error occurs when the null hypothesis is confirmed instead of being rejected and this often occurs due to small sample sizes.

<u>The student used just a tomato plant for each study group. This represents a small sample size. Hence, the main reason for criticizing the experiment performed would be due to the small sample size.</u>
