But some Puritans who were called as the "separating Puritans" were advocates of setting congregations outside the Church. One of these groups is The Colony of Rhode Island spearheaded by Roger Williams. They founded Rhode Island after being expelled from <span>Massachusetts Bay Colony for having unorthodox religious opinions.
