Given that f(x) =3x^2 - 6x + 11 ,find the values of a,b and c for which f(x) = a(x - b)^2 + c
V125BC [204]
First you have to complete the square. The first step would be 3x^2-6x=-11. Then you divide -6 by 2 and square the number you get. 3x^2-6x+9=-11+9. 3x^2-6x+9=-2. Factor out the three to get 3(x^2-2x+3)=-2. You can't factor what is in the parenthesis. You should then add two to each side. 3(x^2-2x+3)+2.A = 3B= I don't knowC = 2

Ok so
what we do is
how much greater=wasted space=cylindervolume-conevolume

volume of a cinlinder=hpir^2
volume of a cone=(1/3)hpir^2
we can alread sybsitute something
(3/3)hpir^2-(1/3)hpir^2=(2/3)hpir^2
so wasted space=(2/3)hpir^2

diameter=4
d=2r
d/2=r
4/2=2=r

and 6=height
so
2/3(6)(3.14)(2^2)
4(3.14)(4)
16(3.14)
50.24 in^3 wasted

All 28 members in Crestview High School’s Ski Club went on a one-day ski trip. Members can rent skis for $16.00 per day or snowb
antoniya [11.8K]

The way I would approach such a question is to put it into equations. My first equation would be 16x+19y=478 which represents $16 on ski's per person and $19 on snowboards must add up to $478 My second would be x+y=28 because the number of skis and snowboards rented must add up to 28 so each person has one item. Next you solve them simultaniously. Gonna use elimination

16x+19y=478 (1)

x+y=28 (2)

16x+16y=448 (3 = equation 2 * 16) (1)-(3) => 3y=30 y = 10. So now we know that 10 people rented snow boards. Just sub that into eq (2) and get x = 18. So 10 people got snow boards and 18 ski's.

To check, 10x19 = 190 16x18= 228

190+228=478 which works out perfectly!
