To get help on topics, try Khan Academy -- khan academy.org is the address. They have video presentations and problems to practice. The videos also aren't told in a "math is boring" style, either.

How do you find the variable when it’s on both sides of the equation
ASHA 777 [7]

If, for example, you had x on one side and x on the other, then subtracting x from both sides "disappears" x. If no other power of x shows up on either side, then your equation either has no solution or is always true.

Which coordnates represent a point on the graph of 3y = 5x - 13?
Elena L [17]
(x,y)
sub given points and see if true

A, (0,-13)
x=0
y=-13
3(-13)=5(0)-13
-39=0-13
-39=-13
false (other user was just guessing)

B. (3,1)
x=3,
y=1
3(1)=5(3)-13
3=15-13
3=2
false

C. (7,7)
x=7
y=7
3(7)=5(7)-13
21=35-13
21=22
false

D. (-6,-1)
3(-1)=5(-6)-13
-3=-30-13
-3=-43
false

answer is none of them

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line that passes through point (-2, -13) is y = 54 -3. What is the point slope
dangina [55]

Answer:

y+13=5(x+2)

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct question is

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line that passes through point (-2, -13) is y = 5x -3. What is the point slope form of the equation for this line?

we have

y=5x-3

This is the equation of the line in slope intercept form

where

the slope is m=5

the y-intercept is b=-3

Remember that

The equation of the line in point-slope form is equal to

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=5

point\ (-2,-13)

substitute

y-(-13)=5(x-(-2))

y+13=5(x+2)

If DE = 8, PS = 4, and PQ = 3, then what is the scale factor of DEFG to PQRS?
posledela

The scale factor of DEFG to PQRS is: 3/8.

What is a Scale Factor?

 • A scale factor of a dilation is the number by which the size of an original figure is changed to a new figure.
 • Scale factor is ratio of corresponding side of new figure to original figure.

Thus:

DE corresponds to PQ.

PQRS is the new figure.

DE = 8; PQ = 3

 • Therefore:

Scale factor of DEFG to PQRS = PQ/DE

Scale factor = 3/8.

Thus, the scale factor of DEFG to PQRS is: 3/8.
