To be treated equal during the segregation period. they wanted a fair life , to have education, and be able to walk places the whites were only permitted to.

African Americans dreamed of equality. This included ending segregation in the simplest of ways, such as restrooms. They also dreamed of equal education, job opportunities, etc.
