The Civilian Conservation Corps, also known as the CCC, was a work relief program that gave jobs for more than 2 million young men during the 1930's. The CCC focused mainly on giving job opportunities to young men on environmental projects, and was considered to be one of the most successful programs of the New Deal. It was established on April 5th, 1933, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt with the purpose of combating the high rates of unemployment on young men during the Great Depression.
