1. A=(2x)^2-2x*x/2 -2x*x/2=4x^2-x^2-x^2=2x^2

2. A=7x*5x- 4x*3x/2=35x^2-6x^2=19x^2,
    V(5x)^2 - (4x)^2= V(25x^2-16x^2)=V9x^2=3x

sveticcg [70]

Step-by-step explanation:

We have, Sorin hits a cricket ball straight up into the air. After 1.5 s, the ball is falling straight down with a speed of 6.5 m/s.

We want to find the initial vertical velocity of the ball.

The relation between initial speed, final speed, acceleration and time is given by using first equation of kinematics. Let v₀ is the initial speed. So,

v=v_o +at

Here, v = -6.5 m/s, t = 1.5 s and a = -g

v_o=v-at\\\\v_o=v+gt\\\\v_o=-6.5+9.8\times 1.5\\\\v_o=8.2\ m/s

So, the initial velocity of the ball is 8.2 m/s and the formula used is (1).

Josue knows that his aunt earns more money. than his uncle. He asked how much his aunt earns each month and was told, "$600 less
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

Uncle's earnings is $2400

Step-by-step explanation:

Represent his uncle's earnings with x

$600 less than twice what your uncle earns is represented as:

2x - 600

Since, his aunt's earnings is $4200.

We have:

2x - 600 = 4200

Add 600 to both sides

2x - 600 + 600= 4200 + 600

2x = 4800

Solve for x

x = 4800/2

x = 2400

<em>Hence, His uncle's earnings is $2400</em>
