This amendment provided liberties to the individuals from the actions of the government.  

Majority of people in the United States think that civil rights and liberties as the principals that protects them from the freedoms of all times. <u>During the ratification of the constitution took place, Federalists and Anti Federalists were in opposition to each other and were of a disagreement that how individual liberties and rights are protected under the constitution. </u>
