Is Human height an example of a trait that represents sex linkage because many separate genes contribute to this single trait.

Many separate genes contribute to the human height, so it is the example of polygenic inheritance. Still, height is not sex linked trait. Sex linkage means that the expression of an allele is dependent on the gender. Height could not be a sex linked trait since both men and women have height, but the variations exist. Difference between men and women regarding the height is the consequence of the sex hormones on the height.

Identify 3 actions from humans that have released greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

Explanation:

Humans are increasingly influencing the climate and the earth's temperature by burning fossil fuels, cutting down rainforests and farming livestock. This adds enormous amounts of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and global warming

Incomplete dominance is a _____ of two phenotypes, but codominance is a _____ of two phenotypes.
Galina-37 [17]

both alleles in the heterozygous genotype are exhibit in the phenotypes. Allele is completely dominant over the other, and it is the phenotype is a blend of the two homozygous phenotypes, there are more than two forms of the same gene, and there maybe one more superior form and several different phenotypes

The first commercial application of genetic engineering was the use of bacteria to make insulin, a medicine needed by diabetics.
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

The question is incomplete, it lacks options. The options are:

A) It has made the demand for insulin decrease.

B) It has made the incidence of diabetes decrease.

C) It has made it easier for diabetics to inject themselves with insulin.

D) It has made insulin cheaper and more readily available.

The answer is D

Explanation:

Genetic engineering is a biotechnological procedure that involves the transfer of genes from one organism to another using biotechnology. In this case, bacteria cells are said to be genetically modified because their genetic content is tampered with and the genes that produces the insulin protein in humans is added into their genome. Hence, they transcribe and translate this gene to produce the protein-insulin.

Diabetic patients cannot produce this insulin in their system. Hence, the insulin produced from this genetically modified bacteria cells can be administered to diabetics via injection. This genetically modified way of producing insulin has proven to be a far better option to the previous practice of slaughtering cattles and pigs to obtain this protein because the GM method allows insulin to be produced in large amounts making it available and cheaper to diabetics.

A. Organic compounds - C₃N₂H₄ , C₆H₅F and C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁

Organic compounds are compounds which have Carbon except few compounds such as carbon dioxide, cyanide. Other than Carbon, other elements also present such as Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen. But Carbon is considered as the main element of organic compounds.

B. Inorganic substances - AIBr₃ , CrO₃ and H₂O₂

Inorganic substances are the compounds which do not own C-H bonds. Most inorganic compounds do not have carbon as their element except few. (Cyanides, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and so on are considered as inorganic although they have carbon).
