After you (correctly) answered part-2, you knew the total bill . . .

             (13.75 + 5%) + 15% on top of that.

             (13.75) + (0.69)  + (2.17)  =  $16.60 .

If they split the bill equally, each would pay  (1/2) (16.60) =  $8.30 .

But Arif wants to pay $3 more than Keisha.

Just take $1.50 away from Keisha's half (leave $6.80),
and add it on to Arif's half (make it $9.80).  Then their
total is the same, but his share is $3 more than her share.

                        $9.80  +  $6.80  =  $16.60

                        $ 9.80  -  $6.80  =  $ 3.00  .

To solve this problem yo need to have the "x", the "y", and the radius. To find the radius since it is not given we use the formula.

sq rt(-3^2+1^2)

sq rt(9+1)

sq rt(10) would be the length of the radius in this case.

Then we use the sine cosine and tangent fractions

sin:y/r

cos:x/r

tan:y/x

With the values plugged in the equations are

SIN:1/sqrt(10) Since there can´t be a sq rt in hte denominator we change it to 1(sq rt(10))/10

COS:-3/sqrt(10) Since there can´t be a sq rt in the denominator we change it to -3(sq rt(10))/10

TAN:1/-3 This one can stay the same.

This would be the measures of SIN, COS, and TAN.

Only a very small (<5) percentage of measurements can be more than 2 standard deviations from the mean of the normal distribu
horsena [70]

Answer:

A. True

Step-by-step explanation:

The empirical rule in statistics states that:

  • 68% of the data will be within 1 standard deviation
  • 95% of the data will be within 2 standard deviations
  • 99.7% of the data will be within 3 standard deviations

So yes, we can state that 5% or less of the data will be more than 2 standard deviations away from the mean. Of course, statistics is not 100% certain, so this rule is not 100% right all the time. Some exceptions might result, but generally speaking, the results should follow the empirical rule.

Multiply the top equation by 6 and the bottom equation by 7. You will cancel x first by doing this and solve for y. You should get y=-1.
Substitute in y for either original equation.
You should get x=1.
Solution is (1,-1).
