Gerald can complete a math assignment in 2 hours and a physics assignment in 1 hour. If he has 8 hours to complete a set of assi

gnments, how many math assignments can he complete if he decides to leave the science assignments for the next day? This situation is given by 2x + y = 8, where x is the number of completed math assignments and y is the number of completed science assignments. (x 0, y 0, x and y take only integer values).

If i am reading this question correctly it states "How many math assignments can he complete in 8 hours" leaving out the science assignments because it states he'd do them tomorrow its simple math. 8 divided by 2 which is 4 math assignments he can complete in 8 hours.

Answer: 4 exercises.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that Gerald has 8 hours to complete a set of assignments if x is the number of math assignments and y is the number of physics assignments, we need to solve the equation:

2x + y = 8

Now, we know that Gerald decides to leave the science assignments for the next day, so on this first day we do not have physics assignments, which implies that y = 0

So now we have the equation 2x = 8

x = 8/2 = 4

x = 4

So we the maximum number that Gerald can complete in 8 hours is equal to 4 (in the situation in which he left the science assignments for the other day)

Sin(2x+30°)=1
Tìm x
Cảm ơn vì giúp đỡ
Pie

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is asking us to find where sin(2x + 30) has a sin of 1. If you look at the unit circle, 90 degrees has a sin of 1. Mathematically, it will be solved like this (begin by taking the inverse sin of both sides):

sin^{-1}[sin(2x+30)]=sin^{-1}(1)

On the left, the inverse sin "undoes" or cancels the sin, leaving us with

2x + 30 = sin⁻¹(1)

The right side is asking us what angle has a sin of 1, which is 90. Sub that into the right side:

2x + 30 = 90 and

2x = 60 so

x = 30

You're welcome!

What is an equation of the line that passes through the point (-6,-4)(−6,−4) and is parallel to the line x+6y=12x+6y=12?
masya89 [10]

Answer:

x + 6y + 30 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 6y = 12

6y = -x + 12

y = -⅙x + 2

Slope: -⅙

y - (-4) = -⅙(x - (-6))

y + 4 = -⅙(x + 6)

-6y - 24 = x + 6

x + 6y + 30 = 0

Walnut High Schools Enrollment is exactly five times as large as the enrollment at walmut junior high the total enrollment for t
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

Enrollment at walnut junior = 142

Enrollment at walnut high = 710

Step-by-step explanation:

Let :

Enrollment at walnut junior = x

Enrollment at walnut high = 5x

Total enrollment in both schools = 852

Mathematically ;

x + 5x = 852

6x = 852

x = 142

5x = 142 * 5 = 710

Hence,

Enrollment at walnut junior = 142

Enrollment at walnut high = 710
