The manager of an automobile dealership is considering a new bonus plan designed to increase sales volume. Currently, the mean s

ales volume is 24 automobiles per month. The manager wants to conduct a research study to see whether the new bonus plan increases sales volume. To collect data on the plan, a sample of sales personnel will be allowed to sell under the new bonus plan for a one-month period.a. Which form of the null and alternative hypotheses most appropriate for this situation. H0: is (greater than or equal to 24/greater than 24/less than or equal to 24/less than 24/equal to 24/not equal to 24) Ha: is (greater than or equal to 24/greater than 24/less than or equal to 24/less than 24/equal to 24/not equal to 24)b. Comment on the conclusion when H0 cannot be rejected. (No evidence that the new plan increases sales./ The research hypothesis ? > 24 is supported; the new plan increases sales.)c. Comment on the conclusion when H0 can be rejected. (No evidence that the new plan increases sales./ The research hypothesis ? > 24 is supported; the new plan increases sales.)

Answer:

The most appropriate null hypothesis for this situation is

H_0: The mean sales volume is equal to 24.

the most appropriate alternative hypothesis for this situation is

H_a: The mean sales volume is greater than 24.

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>The null hypothesis H_0 is the fact that is established and consider as true fact. </em>

Since the established mean sales volume is 24 automobiles per month this should be considered as the null hypothesis.

So, the most appropriate null hypothesis for this situation is

H_0: The mean sales volume is equal to 24

<em>The alternative hypothesis is a fact that intends to reject or refute the null by collecting data that could contradict it. </em>

In this case, since the manager wants to conduct a research study to see whether the new bonus plan increases sales volume, he wants to see if the data collected after the new bonus plan can show that the new average is greater than the established one.

So, the most appropriate alternative hypothesis for this situation is

H_a: The mean sales volume is greater than 24.

To try and prove that H_a shows enough evidence as to assure the new plan actually increases sales volume, he must fix a significance level \alpha, for example 0.1 or 0.05, which gives the probability that H_a is not wrong in case that it rejects H_0.

This confidence level defines an \alpha-score z_\alpha which is a point such that the area under the normal curve N(0;1) to the right of z_\alpha is less than \alpha.

<em>In this case we considered the right side because you want to see the new average is greater than the established one. </em>

<em> If the z-score obtained through the sample is greater than z_\alpha then you can say the new bonus actually increases sales. </em>

<em>If the z-score obtained through the sample is less than or equals to z_\alpha then you do not have enough evidence showing that the new bonus actually increases sales.</em>

I don't know if this is quite what you're looking for but I think it is a diagram showing the relation between variable quantities, typically of two variables, each measured along one of a pair of axes at right angles.
Hope this helps!

Chelsey put for $450 into an account with a simple interest rate of 2.5% when she withdrew the money she had earned a total of $
fgiga [73]

Answer:

5.66 years

Step-by-step explanation:

450 x 1.025^(n) = 450 + 67.50

450 x 1.025^(n) = 517.50

1.025^(n) =(517.50 / 450)

1.025^(n) = 1.15

n = ln(1.15) / ln(1.025)

n = 5.66

A triangle is formed from the points L(-3, 6), N(3, 2) and P(1, -8). Find the equation of the following lines:
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

Part A) y=\frac{3}{4}x-\frac{1}{4}

Part B)  y=\frac{2}{7}x-\frac{5}{7}

Part C) y=\frac{2}{7}x+\frac{8}{7}

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

points L(-3, 6), N(3, 2) and P(1, -8)

Part A) Find the equation of the  median from N

we Know that

The median passes through point N to midpoint segment LP

step 1

Find the midpoint segment LP

The formula to calculate the midpoint between two points is equal to

M(\frac{x1+x2}{2},\frac{y1+y2}{2})

we have

L(-3, 6) and P(1, -8)

substitute the values

M(\frac{-3+1}{2},\frac{6-8}{2})

M(-1,-1)

step 2

Find the slope of the segment NM

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

we have

N(3, 2) and M(-1,-1)

substitute the values

m=\frac{-1-2}{-1-3}

m=\frac{-3}{-4}

m=\frac{3}{4}

step 3

Find the equation of the line in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=\frac{3}{4}

point\ N(3, 2)

substitute

y-2=\frac{3}{4}(x-3)

step 4

Convert to slope intercept form

Isolate the variable y

y-2=\frac{3}{4}x-\frac{9}{4}

y=\frac{3}{4}x-\frac{9}{4}+2

y=\frac{3}{4}x-\frac{1}{4}

Part B) Find the equation of the  right bisector of LP

we Know that

The right bisector is perpendicular to LP and passes through midpoint segment LP

step 1

Find the midpoint segment LP

The formula to calculate the midpoint between two points is equal to

M(\frac{x1+x2}{2},\frac{y1+y2}{2})

we have

L(-3, 6) and P(1, -8)

substitute the values

M(\frac{-3+1}{2},\frac{6-8}{2})

M(-1,-1)

step 2

Find the slope of the segment LP

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

we have

L(-3, 6) and P(1, -8)

substitute the values

m=\frac{-8-6}{1+3}

m=\frac{-14}{4}

m=-\frac{14}{4}

m=-\frac{7}{2}

step 3

Find the slope of the perpendicular line to segment LP

Remember that

If two lines are perpendicular, then their slopes are opposite reciprocal (the product of their slopes is equal to -1)

m_1*m_2=-1

we have

m_1=-\frac{7}{2}

so

m_2=\frac{2}{7}

step 4

Find the equation of the line in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=\frac{2}{7}

point\ M(-1,-1) ----> midpoint LP

substitute

y+1=\frac{2}{7}(x+1)

step 5

Convert to slope intercept form

Isolate the variable y

y+1=\frac{2}{7}x+\frac{2}{7}

y=\frac{2}{7}x+\frac{2}{7}-1

y=\frac{2}{7}x-\frac{5}{7}

Part C) Find the equation of the altitude from N

we Know that

The altitude is perpendicular to LP and passes through point N

step 1

Find the slope of the segment LP

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

we have

L(-3, 6) and P(1, -8)

substitute the values

m=\frac{-8-6}{1+3}

m=\frac{-14}{4}

m=-\frac{14}{4}

m=-\frac{7}{2}

step 2

Find the slope of the perpendicular line to segment LP

Remember that

If two lines are perpendicular, then their slopes are opposite reciprocal (the product of their slopes is equal to -1)

m_1*m_2=-1

we have

m_1=-\frac{7}{2}

so

m_2=\frac{2}{7}

step 3

Find the equation of the line in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=\frac{2}{7}

point\ N(3,2)

substitute

y-2=\frac{2}{7}(x-3)

step 4

Convert to slope intercept form

Isolate the variable y

y-2=\frac{2}{7}x-\frac{6}{7}

y=\frac{2}{7}x-\frac{6}{7}+2

y=\frac{2}{7}x+\frac{8}{7}
