What might happen if a state is not recognized by other states?
patriot [66]
If a state is not recognized by other states then it is isolated culturally, economically, educationally, and militarily (to name a few). There would be no trade for products requiring the state to be self-sufficient. Food crops would need to be grown in great quantities to feed the entire population. Manufacturing would be required to clothe, house, service everyone. This magnitude of isolation would prove detrimental to the populace.

Mayan people were known for participating in which of the following activities?
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

The Mayans played an ancient ball game that correlated with  the harvest. The goal of it was to hit a ball through a vertical hoop on the side of the court.

They used a rubber ball, about 20 inches. The court had walls that were slopping inwards and hanging from the walls, were the hoops. ( picture attached). The goal of the game was to pass the ball around, without having it touch your hands, and then get the ball to pass through one of the rings. Since the rings were so high and players were not allowed to use their hands, it was extremely difficult to get the ball through a ring!!

It was a solemn experience, filled with ritual importance. Religious leaders attended, as did most chiefs and other government leaders. Sacred songs were sung and played. It was believed that the winner of the game,  went to the underworld and return with a prosperous harvest. He was considered a hero. In fact, there are several carvings on the walls, representing the warrior being decapitated after winning the ball game. .

Technology, language, and writing were widely spread due to _____.
kkurt [141]
Well, there can be three answers to this. Trade, migration, and expansion all played important roles in the spread of these things. When merchants traded, their cultures were spread, as they traded both products and information. Migration also played a role, since people migrated and then they adapted to the indigenous people's culture and the indigenous learned from them. Additionally, expansion played a role, because when people conquered other people, they forced them to accept their culture and eventually cultures mixed.
