A company manufactures spherical containers for small toys, each with a radius of 2 cm. The company also sells a smaller product

that is exactly half the shape of the original container. The resulting shape is a hemisphere. What is the surface area of the hemisphere? What is the surface area of the rounded part of the hemisphere? π in.2 What is the area of the circular base of the hemisphere? π in.2 What is the total surface area of the hemisphere? π in.2 Another student completed the same problem, but used the formula 3πr2 to determine the surface area. How would this solution compare to the surface area determined above? The solution would be the surface area determined above.

Answer:

(a)8\pi cm^2\\(b)4\pi cm^2\\(c)12\pi cm^2\\(d)12\pi cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Radius of the Sphere =2cm

(a)Surface Area of the rounded part of the Hemisphere

=2\pi r^2\\=2\pi *2^2\\=8\pi cm^2

(b)Area of the circular base of the hemisphere

=\pi r^2\\=\pi *2^2\\=4\pi cm^2

(c)Total Surface Area =Area of the rounded part+Area of the circular base

=8\pi + 4\pi=12\pi cm^2

(d)If another student completed the same problem using the formula,

Surface Area of a Hemisphere

=3\pi r^2\\=3\pi *2^2\\=12\pi cm^2

The solution would be the <u>same as the surface area</u> determined above.

In a book of stickers the ratio of large stickers to small stickers is 7 to 5. Based on this ratio, how many large stickers are
Archy [21]
Large sticker : Small sticker = 7 : 5

Find total parts:
7 + 5 = 12

Find 1 part:
12 parts = 96 stickers
1 part = 96 ÷ 12 = 8 stickers

Find 7 parts:
1 part = 8 stickers
7 parts = 7 x 8 = 56 stickers

Wittaler [7]

Answer:

I think the better deal is $8.78.

Step-by-step explanation:

I think this because half of twenty is 10, and half of 12 is 6. The twelve pack price is closer to one dollar a can, and the 20 pack's is further. :) i hope this helps you!

solve 3(2x-1)-10=8=5x l had this question so many times in past 2 weeks in my algebra exams and l still dont know how to solve i
Nat2105 [25]
Alright, so to understand algebra
use PEMDAS
parenthasees
exponents (square roots count as exponents)
multiply or divide
add or subtract

basically try to isolate the unknown/vareable/xterm
so

3(2x-1)-10=8+5x (assuming you meant to type 8+5x and not 8=5x)

first distribute using distributive property
a(b+c)=ab+ac
3(2x-1)=3 times 2x+3 times -1=6x-3
6x-3-10=8+5x
add like terms
6x-13=8+5x
subtract 5x from both sides
x-13=8
add 13 to both sdies
x=21
