Is this a multiple-choice question? I don't see any variables defined to represent length, width, and area.

Using A = area, l = length, w = width, a formula for area would be A = lw.

Some writers use b = base for the length and h = height for the width, in which case A = bh.

The height of a cylinder is twice the radius of its base.
Ber [7]

Let x represent radius of circle.

We have been given that the height of a cylinder is twice the radius of its base. So height of cylinder would be 2x.

Now we will use volume of cylinder formula to our given problem.

V=\pi r^2h, where,

r = Radius of base of cylinder,

h = Height of cylinder.

Upon substituting our given values, we will get:

V=\pi\cdot x^2\cdot 2x

V=2x^3\pi

Therefore, our required volume expression would be 2x^3\pi.

  • [Right Triangles Only]: Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

We are given a right triangle. We can use PT to solve for the missing length.

Step 2: Identify Variables

Leg a = 8

Leg b = 8

Hypotenuse c = x

Step 3: Solve for x

  1. Substitute [PT]:                    8² + 8² = x²
  2. Exponents:                           64 + 64 = x²
  3. Add:                                      128 = x²
  4. Isolate x:                               8√2 = x
  5. Rewrite:                                x = 8√2
