The answer is simple. To convert a fraction into a decimal take the numerator(the top number) and divide it by the denominator(the bottom number) so the fraction shown above is 4/10. There are two ways. Number 1: u know that 1/10 equals 0.1 so 4/10 equals 0.4 because the 4 needs to be in the tenths place. Number 2: take 4 (numerator) divide it by 10 (denominator) so 4 divided by 10 equals 0.4 so your answer is C=0.40. (PS: 0.4=0.40)

Which statement best describes why the sale price is a function of the original price?
stich3 [128]

Answer:

  see below

Step-by-step explanation:

A relation is a <em>function</em> when there is exactly one output for each input. That is the case in this table, so the relation between the original price and sale price is a function.

If the points at (-4, 3) and (2, 3) are reflected over the x-axis to create two new points, what shape can be formed by the four
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let (a,b)\in \mathbb{R}^{2}, a reflection over the x-axis consists in the following operation:

(a,b) \rightarrow (a,-b)

If we know that X = (-4,3) and Y = (2, 3), then the points translated over the x-axis are X' = (-4, -3) and Y' = (2,-3), respectively. The most precise description of the shape is a rectangle for the following facts:

1) XX' = YY' = 8 and XY = X'Y' = 6.

2) X and X' have the same x-component.

3) Y and Y' have the same x-component.

4) X and Y have the same y-component.

5) X' and Y' have the same y-component.

A representation of the shape is included below as attachment.

The following statement is either true (in all cases) or false (for at least one example). If false, construct a specific e
matrenka [14]

Answer:

False, counterexample below

Step-by-step explanation:

Denote the unit vectors of R^3 by e_1=(1,0,0), e_2=(0,1,0), e_3=(0,0,1). Now consider v_1=e_1, v_2=2e_1 and v_3=e_3. We have that v_1, v_2,v_3 \in \mathbb{R}^3. Also, the vector v_3 is not a linear combination of v_1, v_2 because any linear combination of these two vectors will have third coordinate zero, but v_3 has third coordinate 1 so they can't be equal.

However, the set \{v_1, v_2,v_3\} is not linearly independent, because 2v_1-v_2+0v_3=0 is a non-trivial linear combination of these vectors that equals zero.
