If the slaves did the slightest thing wrong they got whipped the slaves were downgraded. Sarah's baby was crying the Master told her to shut the baby up. The baby was hungry but Sarah had no food so the Master whipped the baby with a whip. The Whip cut deep into the baby's skin.
